Calling all volunteers! Join your neighbors at the GCA office to help assemble all the donations we received for the Baby Dream Kits. We will be loading the care items into insulated lunch boxes to prepare them for delivery to Arizona Helping Hands. Help from all ages is welcome and appreciated! We will be providing pizza and cold refreshments for all volunteers

This isn’t your average bus trip! On this Sedona Red Rocks tour with Free Spirit, travelers will explore ancient Native American ruins, marvel at spectacular landscapes, and explore the local artisans of Sedona and the surrounding area. During our tour, we will explore the ruins at Montezuma Castle National Monument, one of the best-preserved Sinagua cliff dwellings in North America dating back almost 1,000 years. There will also be free time in uptown Sedona to explore on foot the many art galleries and shops, get a psychic reading, or enjoy the serenity that Sedona provides with a glass of wine on the balcony. Cost to participate is $139 a person. Meals are not included in cost. Join the Hiking Club for a moderate hike in the Usery Mountain (Mesa, AZ) area. This 7.5 mile loop hike is ideal for intermediate hikers. Estimated hiking time is approximately 3 hours. To learn more about these hikes and/or RSVP, go to http://www.meetup.com/Grayhawk-Hiking-Club/. To participate, you must have joined the club online (if you have not already done so) and RSVP’d “YES” to this event. On the website, you can review many other upcoming hikes and email the organizers with questions.

Floo-id YOGA is a locally owned boutique yoga studio right off the 101 Freeway and Scottsdale Road. They offer a wide variety of classes to accommodate all ages and skill levels to help you become a better version of yourself. Floo-id has offered to do these classes at no cost just for Grayhawk residents! Just bring your mat, a can-do attitude, and your body will do the rest. If you are not available to attend the Grayhawk classes, their studio is right down the road on Mayo Blvd. so take advantage of their one week free trial in January. The classes will take place in the narrow beginning section of the greenbelt that starts at the tunnel under the Thompson Peak Pkwy and Hayden Road intersection. Walk down, ride bikes over, or park in the Offices at Grayhawk parking lot and head down to the greenbelt from there.

In this class you will learn how to provide CPR to adults, children, and infants using manikins, proper use of an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), and what to do in the case of a total airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants and so much more! This class is required to be two hours long, and the certification cards are valid for two years. The minimum recommended age is 10 years old. Certification cards are issued upon successful course completion. The cost for the class and certification is $30 per person which can be paid ahead of time in the GCA office by Thursday, February 22 with cash or check made out to ABC’s of CPR. Please register online at www.grayhawkcommunity.org by Thurs., Feb. 21 to reserve your spot! At least 10 participants are needed in order to hold the class.
