Play Day at the Park

Join us at the Monterey Tot Lot on Sept. 11 from 9-10:30 a.m. for some play time with neighbors and friends! This tot lot is well shaded and a great place for the kids to run off some energy. We will provide breakfast pastries, tasty snacks and cold refreshments! Register by Sept. 9.

New Resident Orientation

Join us via Zoom from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 to learn more about the community you live in. Learn a bit about the Association and enjoy some easy trivia for a chance to win prizes at the end of the orientation! Just for joining you will be entered into a raffle for a $50 Amazon gift card. Register by Sept. 13.

Grayhawk Shredding Event

Make plans to stop by the GCA office (7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy.) on Sept. 18 from 9-11 a.m. during our shredding event with Shred-it Document Destruction Services Each registered vehicle will be allowed no more than two bankers box sized boxes. Documents will be shredded on site once the trash receptacle is full and placed inside the truck. You must register to participate as space in the truck is limited.

This is a free service for Grayhawk residents, but we are accepting donations for our non-profit partner, Arizona Helping Hands. Items they are in need of include toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby diapers and baby wipes. Thanks to our sponsor, Cashman Partners- Russ Lyon Sotheby’s group for making this event possible.

Featherwind Shade Sail

AZ Shade Design & Consulting LLC is nearing completion on the fabrication of two shade new shade sails for the Featherwind tot lot. Once complete, the sails will be attached to two raised posts, which are designed to eliminate the friction between the cable and shade sail that has been aggravated by recent storms. Residents can expect to see work being completed on posts this week. Please call 480-563-9708 with any questions.

Mosquitos

Mosquitos have become a nuisance to many valley residents thanks to heavy rains this summer. Maricopa County currently fogs areas that have mosquito infestations through the mosquito adulticide program. You have two options to lodge a mosquito complaint with Maricopa County's Environmental Services Department.

1. Call 602-506-3011 to file a complaint over the phone.
2. Submit a complaint online.

Monument Landscape Enhancements

Monument landscape enhancements have been taking place throughout the Retreat. DLC recently completed the Los Vientos neighborhood monument and is moving on to work on the Firenze monument landscaping. These enhancements were included in Phase III of the Monument Sign Project and approved by the Board of Directors in early 2021.

Transponder Installation (RVA Only)

Installations this week will occur on Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102). For questions, please contact Cierra at 480-563-9708 or caustin@ccmcnet.com.

If you would like to have a transponder installed, please follow the steps below:
1. Complete the online transponder installation form
2. Come to the office during one of the schedule times in the vehicle you are having the transponder installed on
3. Park in front of the office and stay in your car
4. A staff member will come out to install your transponder

We are no longer accepting cash for transponders. Please bring a check or credit card with you when you have a transponder installed.
