Arizona Helping Hands Pajama Drive

Help us provide cozy pajamas for boys and girls ages 0-16 in foster care this holiday season through our friends at Arizona Helping Hands! Pajamas need to be new with tags and will be worn all year so they do not necessarily need to have holiday designs. Pajamas can be dropped off at the GCA Office at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy. Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. or at any holiday event. Email Sarah Van Duyne with any questions.

Preventing/Treating Back Pain

Join Impact Therapy on Dec. 8 from 6-7 p.m. in the Talon Room to learn how to experience life without back pain. This class will consist of both an educational component and a movement component. Space is limited. Register by Dec. 6 to save your spot.

Head outside Dec. 10 from 5-7 p.m. and enjoy festive music, bright sparkly lights and of course, SANTA! The party will be headed down 76th St. in The Park and Santa's helpful elves will be handing out treats and toys to those watching and waving. Santa will be accompanied by his favorite DJ playing fun holiday tunes, so be prepared to dance! After the parade walk down to the Christmas street in Montevina for some cocoa, cookies, and a chance to take a picture with Santa.

The best part of this parade is having resident participation! Do you have a local business you would like to showcase? We are having a battle of the businesses and will vote on who has the best in show for floats or vehicle decorations. Winner will get to sponsor an event of their choice at no cost in 2023! If you have a group interested in participating in the parade, email Sarah at svanduyne@ccmcnet.com. Residents and businesses are invited to LIGHT UP floats, vehicles, golf carts, trailers, bikes, or anything you like and participate in the parade.

Holiday Wine and Wrap

Bring a bottle, bring a friend, bring a friend with a bottle... but also bring some wrapping paper and your holiday gifts and wrap them in the Talon Room from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13. Enjoy wine and chatting with neighbors while wrapping gifts away from home. We will supply scissors, tape and gift tags for all to use. Register by Dec. 9 to save your spot.

floo-id Yoga in the Park

Join us to relieve stress and enjoy the outdoors as floo-id YOGA hosts FREE Yoga in the Park on Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. at the greenbelt near the GCA Office at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy. No experience is necessary. Just bring your mat and a can-do attitude. Register for the class today!

Your Favorite Holiday House

Holiday lights have been turned on throughout the Grayhawk community and residents are finishing up their own dazzling displays. We want to know where the biggest and brightest are! Nominate your favorite holiday house and both you and your nominee will be entered for the chance to win a $100 Target gift card. Nominations must be submitted by Dec. 16. Make sure to follow our Facebook page, where we'll share photos and a list of nominees once nominations close.

Montevina Cocoa Hut

Last year, the Cocoa Hut collected over 6,000 pounds of food and $18,000 in cash donations, which helped St. Mary's Food Bank provide over 130,000 meals to families in need. Let's help them break that record this year! Stop by Rose Garden Ln. (west of Hayden Rd. off Grayhawk Dr.) nightly through Christmas to check out their amazing decorations. Make sure you take non-perishable food or cash to donate in exchange for hot cocoa. Find more on the Grayhawk AZ Christmas Street Facebook page.
