Food Truck Night: East Coast Joe's

Head to the greenbelt at 78th Way/78th Pl. on April 19 from 4-7 p.m. for Lobster Rolls and Shrimp!  Don't miss the various kinds of Tiramisu. Earth Day Adopt-A-Road Cleanup

We are looking for a few good volunteers to aid in our Adopt-A-Road cleanup on Saturday, April 22. We will meet at the GCA office at 8 a.m. and you can expect to be done by 10 a.m.  We will provide water, gloves, safety vests and trash bags.  This is a great way to complete community service hours,. Volunteers 17 years of age and under must be with a guardian.  Please register if you plan to attend.

Family BBQ and Movie Night

Join us at the Grayhawk Neighborhood Park on April 28 at 5:30 p.m. for a night of family fun. Enjoy live music, rides, hot dogs, drinks, s'mores, popcorn and Puss In Boots: The Last Wish on a 50' screen. This event is free thanks to David Van Omen and Andrew Bloom of Keller Williams NorthEast Valley, Jeremy Mueller with State Farm and DLC Resources. Register by April 24.

Ridgecrest Mailbox 

Residents that use the 74th Way mailbox in Ridgecrest will be unable to access the mailbox and retrieve mail from April 17-April 20 while the box is undergoing repairs. Mail will be removed on April 17 and mail service will resume on April 21 when post office will put mail back into boxes. Residents wanting their mail between April 17 and 20 will need to pick it up at the post office at 7339 E. Williams Dr.

Events and Programs Survey

A big thank you to all of the residents that took time to complete the survey. The feedback received will help the Event Planning and Communications Committees improve community events and communications moving forward.  Congratulations to Jenna Gehring, the winner of the $150 Amazon gift card! Plant it Forward Logo

Grayhawk homeowners are encouraged to propagate plants in their own yards and donate them to the Association for DLC to use throughout the community during the spring planting season through the Plant it Forward program. Learn more about the program, including when you can donate your plants, by visiting the GCA website. 

 

Spring donation dates are schedule on Tues., April 25 and Wed., April 26. Donations can be dropped off in a box either day by 1 p.m. at any of the following locations.  

  • Monterey Park Tot Lot- E. Whistling Wind Way and N. 74th Way 
  • Windsong Mailbox- E. White Tail Way and N. 76th Way
  • Peregrine Pool (for Retreat Village residents only)- E. Angel Spirit Way and N. 82nd Way
  • Los Vientos Pool (for Retreat residents only)- E. Windwood Ln. and N. 81st Pl.

If you aren’t sure how to go about propagating a plant, you’re in luck! Landscape Committee Chairperson Arlene Smith and resident plant guru Victoria Kauzlarich (author of “Our Desert, Our Home”  in The Grayhawk Flight) created a how-to video walking viewers through the easy steps of propagating various desert plants.

Installations for this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102).  For questions, please contact Nian at 480-563-9708 or nquinn@ccmcnet.com.  Please bring a check or credit card with you when you have a transponder installed.
