If you are a single looking for casual conversation, a friend, or just to meet some other singles in your neighborhood, this event is for you! Head to Pitch Pizzeria on May 17 at 5 p.m. and grab yourself a bite to eat and a drink while you broaden your circle of friends and to try something new. Register by May 12.

End of School Kona Ice Blast

Celebrate the end of the school year on May 26 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the greenbelt on the corner of 78th Way and 78th Pl with a treat from the Kona Ice! Play casual yard games in the greenbelt as we kick off the summer. The temperatures will be hot, so the games will include water balloons. Plan on getting wet! Wear sun screen and bring a towel. We will be giving out FREE treats to the first 100 who register!

Child and Babysitting Safety Class

Current or would-be babysitters ages 10-17 are invited to join us in the Talon Room at 10 a.m. on June 2 for this class that covers infant/child safety, pediatric CPR and basic care techniques. Certification cards are issued upon successful completion of the course and certification is valid for two years. Price is $50 in exact cash and includes a pizza lunch. Register and pay by May 18!

Hard Turf Transition

Grayhawk’s landscape will have a more abrupt switch from Ryegrass to Bermuda turf this year, commonly called a quick or hard transition. A treatment was applied on May 3 that will cause the ryegrass to die abruptly, allowing the Bermuda grass to reestablish itself sooner. Residents should see the turf go from green to brown in about 7 to 10 days. You can read more about this process here.

Got Snakes?

Some Garda staff members have been trained in snake removal. If you encounter a snake on your property, you can call 480-502-7685 or 480-502-5078 and request an aid in removal. Remember that this is a courtesy service and can only be performed when time permits. Snakes will only be removed when the resident that called in has been able to monitor the snake and it remains visible (not in bushes, etc.).

Peregrine Pool Closure

During the recent work at the Peregrine Pool a leak was discovered in the spa. Unfortunately, it was determined that the pool area cannot be opened by April 26 as previously scheduled as the leak has created potential safety hazards for residents.

Staff is working to secure a vendor to repair the spa and residents will be notified as soon as the pool area is reopened. We apologize for any inconvenience. Peregrine residents may request a key for an alternate pool by calling the GCA Office at 480-563-9708.

Transponder Installation

Installations for this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102).
