AZHH Backpack Drive

Our friends at Arizona Helping Hands need our help with their back-to-school drive, and we want to give BIG. AZHH fills and donate over 7,000 backpacks to help provide kids in foster care supplies are essential for their academic success, and we are hoping Grayhawk residents will donate at least 100 backpacks to help them reach their goal.

New backpacks can be dropped off at the GCA office at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy., Ste. 102 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Alternately, you can shop from the comfort of your home on our Amazon Wish List dedicated to AZHH. Donations should be made by no later than August 21, but the sooner we receive them, the sooner we can help put them on the back of a child in foster care!

Craveable Summer Salads

Join Chef Kevin Barko with Heritage Street Cooks on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Talon Room as he spills the tea and shares a lifetime of restaurant secrets to help you create perfectly dressed summer salads at home. Stop using store bought dressings with ingredients you can’t pronounce and elevate your salad game! Cost is $64 per person. Register by August 24.

Landscape Updates

In addition to working hard to protect landscaping from the summer heat, DLC Resources, the community landscaper for Grayhawk, is engaging in some special projects. Read more in their August update, along with how you can prepare for monsoons.

Commercial Vehicle Reminder

Commercial vehicles must be stored out of sight in the garage. A commercial vehicle is any vehicle/trailer that has design or lettering which advertises a commercial enterprise and/or trucks having product carrying racks; paint, chemicals and other products visible in the bed, or any other specialized equipment behind the cab area. Magnets with printing can simply be removed from the vehicle to allow driveway parking, provided all other requirements are met.

Installations for this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102).
