Scottsdale City Council to hold Monday discussion of possible fall bond election

The Scottsdale City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, April 15, to consider calling a bond election this November. Monday’s discussion comes after the city concluded a series of public meetings and online public feedback about which potential project investments are most important to the community.

Throughout March, Scottsdale residents attended open house discussions and provided feedback on a list of 67 potential capital projects the city has identified as needs but lack funding to move forward. Those discussions resulted in a narrowed list of projects which the City Council could send to the Nov. 5 ballot for voter consideration in a bond election.

Among the projects,  two would directly impact Grayhawk residents. These projects include:

3. Build Flood Control Structures to Protect Homes and Businesses in the Reata Wash Flood Plain 

42.  Add a Dog Park to Thompson Peak Park

To provide feedback to the Mayor and all six councilmembers, send an email to citycouncil@ScottsdaleAz.gov. This is your opportunity to express your desire to have the currently unfunded Reata Wash and Dog Park projects included in the potential bond.

Monday’s regular City Council meeting was moved from its scheduled Tuesday slot so all City Council members can participate in the discussion, which will not be possible Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict. In addition to the Monday meeting, a special City Council meeting will be held Tuesday, April 16, so the City Council can hear several items that could not be moved to Monday due to public notice requirements.
