GCA Board Briefs

Narrative from the May 5, 2025 Grayhawk Community Association (GCA) Board of Directors meeting can be viewed here.  Board meetings are held on the first Monday of most months at 5:30 p.m. hybrid via Zoom or in the Talon Room. More information regarding meetings can be found on the community website.

Turf Transition

Grayhawk’s landscape will have a more abrupt switch from Ryegrass to Bermuda turf this year, commonly called a quick or hard transition. Typically, landscape vendors chose a slow transition method - a gradual process that lasts from the beginning of April through the end of June. But when warm weather arrives, the Ryegrass competes with the dormant Bermuda for sunlight, water and nutrients. This competition can result in a sparse, weak Bermuda crop. A hard transition provides more days of growth for the Bermuda to establish and sustain itself, typically creating a stronger crop of Bermuda.

You can read more about this transition process and what to expect is this document from DLC Resources, the Grayhawk community landscapers.

While You're Away

Before you escape the heat by heading to a second home or off on vacation this summer, make sure that the GCA office has at least one good phone number and email for you. This helps us reach you in case of an emergency while you're away. You can verify your information by reaching out to Bri at bminjarez@ccmcnet.com or by completing the Resident Information Form.

Maintenance Storage Project

The Operational Review Committee and Grayhawk Board of Directors recently approved a project to move maintenance and event storage from an off-site storage facility to the Raptor Room at the GCA Office. This project allows for long-term cost savings and streamlines processes for staff.

The project included adding a storage container at the DLC landscape yard to house the mules driven by maintenance staff. As of the beginning of May, the storage facility has been emptied and staff is working on organizing supplies in their new home.
